The global mobile esports spotlight is turning toward South Asia. While competitive PUBG Mobile teams worldwide have their sights set on the massive $500,000 USD PMGO Season 2 Main Event in Pakistan this October, the absolute best squads in our region must first survive one final, brutal gauntlet: the PMGO SA 2026 finals.
Officially locked in to take place in Kathmandu, Nepal, from September 16th to September 19th, 2026, this four-day regional showdown will bring together 16 elite squads from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Organized by Krafton, Level Infinite, and Esports County, this A-Tier tournament is the definitive proving ground where regional pride meets global opportunity.
The Ultimate Stakes: Golden Tickets and $40,000 USD Prize Pool
While a $40,000 USD regional prize pool is on the line in Kathmandu, the real reward is much bigger than a paycheck. The top 3 teams on the final leaderboard will secure direct qualification slots to the prestigious PMGO Season 2 Main Event in Pakistan.
To give you an idea of the financial side, here is how the prize distribution breaks down across placements and performance milestones:
(Note: The remaining portion of the pool is distributed to lower-ranked positions as base placement rewards).
Beyond the cash, every single kill and placement matters for the rolling South Asia PMGC Qualification Points Rankings. Because the revamped PMGO circuit has completely replaced the old PMSL structure, these performance points are incredibly valuable. Teams outside the top three will still be fighting tooth and nail to stack points toward qualifying for the multi-million dollar Global Championship (PMGC) in Türkiye later this winter.
A Massive Rule Change: Players to Use Own Devices
In a move that has the competitive community breathing a sigh of relief, rumors from the circuit suggest that the PMGO SA 2026 finals will feature a major logistical upgrade. Similar to the recent Eastern Europe & Central Asia (EECA) tournament setup, players will be permitted to compete on their own personal devices.
In high-stakes mobile esports, factors like muscle memory, custom button layouts, and device familiarity dictate who wins a gunfight. By eliminating the technical friction of forced stage hardware, fans are guaranteed to see peak-performance mechanical plays and flawless execution.
The Final 16 Lineup
The tournament marks a historic geographic shift, moving from last season’s venue at the Expo Center in Lahore to the heart of Nepal. This gives Nepalese squads a massive hometown advantage as they defend their turf against invading regional giants.
