Aurora Gaming Miss the Flight to Pakistan: Big Disappointment!

Ask almost any PUBG MOBILE analyst, player, or fan, and you’ll hear the same name mentioned among the game’s greatest talents: TOP (Burenbayar Altangerel).

Widely regarded as one of the most mechanically gifted players in PUBG MOBILE history, TOP has built a reputation for delivering under pressure on the biggest stages. Yet even the strongest stars aren’t immune to failure when competing in a team-based esport.

For Pakistani fans, the result is especially painful. With PMGO’s biggest stage coming to Lahore, many were hoping to watch stars such as TOP, DOK, and REFUS perform in front of a live audience. Instead, one of the tournament favorites will be watching from home.

The MongolZ Took Control While Aurora Lost Ground

Aurora’s elimination wasn’t simply the result of one bad match. The entire EECA field became significantly more competitive, and no team showcased that better than The MongolZ.

The MongolZ Delivered a Championship Performance

While Aurora struggled to maintain momentum, The MongolZ dominated the Finals from start to finish.

With 151 points, they secured first place and claimed the PMGO Season 2 EECA title through consistent placements, confident team fighting, and strong late-game decision-making. Their pace forced every contender to keep up, and Aurora never found the form needed to challenge the leaders.

    Avalanche Added More Pressure

Another obstacle came in the form of Avalanche Team.

Throughout the event, Avalanche repeatedly disrupted Aurora’s rotations and mid-game setups, often forcing unfavorable engagements before Aurora could establish position. Although Avalanche ultimately finished 6th with 120 points and also missed qualification, their aggressive approach made life significantly harder for Aurora during several critical matches.

    Why Did Aurora Gaming Fail?

When a roster packed with elite talent falls short, questions naturally follow. While there is no single explanation, several factors appear to have contributed to Aurora’s disappointing finish.

    1. A Historic Streak Finally Ended

Since emerging as one of PUBG MOBILE’s elite players in 2022, TOP has consistently appeared on the international stage.

PMGO Season 2 marks the first major international LAN qualification that has slipped through his hands in years, making Aurora’s elimination even more surprising.

    2. Signs of Competitive Fatigue

Aurora have spent the last several seasons competing across multiple high-level events.

The demanding schedule may have affected the roster’s coordination and consistency. At times, the team looked less synchronized than fans are used to seeing, especially during crucial mid-to-late game situations.

    3. The Zyol Question

The arrival of Zyol generated huge expectations.

On paper, the roster looked stronger than ever. In practice, however, Aurora often appeared to rely on individual moments of brilliance rather than coordinated team execution. While Zyol remains an exceptional player, the team never seemed fully comfortable throughout the Finals.

    4. Problems on Miramar

Miramar became one of Aurora’s weakest maps during the event.

Their macro decisions frequently left them fighting from disadvantaged positions, forcing unnecessary battles during rotations. Instead of controlling space and tempo, Aurora often found themselves reacting to other teams, a costly weakness in a stacked EECA lobby.

A Painful Exit, But Not the End

Missing PMGO Lahore is undoubtedly a major disappointment for Aurora Gaming and their fans. However, the story of their 2026 season is far from over.

Thanks to strong performances across previous international events, Aurora remain on course for PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2026 qualification, where the roster will have another opportunity to prove that this result was an exception rather than the beginning of a decline.

For now, though, one fact remains impossible to ignore:

One of PUBG MOBILE’s most feared teams will not be coming to Lahore.
